SIX BABY BLUEBIRDS

Quote: Some believe bluebirds are a symbol of joy and hope or good news arriving soon. Others think of them as a connection between the living and deceased. Before your eyes on a warm day of spring you see the first sunrise and then you see a little fellow in the skies, a tiny specimen braving a morning song just before your eyes Atop a tree he flies only to sit on a cup shaped woven nest she shouts for joy to her little ones there are 6 nestling bluebirds with no downy feathers on their chest Tiny peep peep peeps come out of their loosely weaved hotbed mama feeds them with her eager beak while daddy goes Tu-a-wee, Tu-a-wee, then waits until their fed Three weeks old and ready to fly they flap incessantly until they learn to fly aiming for a clear blue the sky they soar towards eternity Six baby bluebirds finally, ... on their way.

It is wonderful to have the winter gone and to hear birds, for me backyard birds. I've only seen a bluebird once. It was quite something. They love open fields my daughter ( who is a huge bird fan) used to tell me. Your poem would be beautiful illustrated. It is just lovely altogether. I enjoyed it so.

Such a delightful read dear Rose which is captivating with the lovely imagery and the sounds too of the little bluebird family. ‘ on a cup shaped woven nest’ you can visualise the little open, hungry mouths that are eager to be fed. I love the last stanza as they leave the nest and are ready to start their adventures amongst a clear, blue sky. So enjoyed it. Thank you for sharing. Hugs and blessings to you xx :):)

As I read your poem, I could see the baby bluebirds and hear their tiny 'peep, peep, peeps.' Delight and descriptive images. I especially liked 'aiming for a clear blue sky towards eternity.' I felt like I, too, was soaring beyond time. Your poem was delicately beautiful and a delight to read. Have a great evening, hugs, Sara
