Silhouette Begets Facets
Listen to poem:
I framed your silhouette
snapped from shadow
captured when I feigned
a photograph of your profile
in bright sunlight
with white wall behind.
I wanted an outline of you
in sharp contrast relief,
so my mind could fill in
all the details from memory
- a changing slide-show
of images flipped through,
So much more revealing
of how much I love you
than an album
full of snap-shots frozen
- with smiles for the dicky bird,
lips pursed in faked poses.
