Silent Saunter

As they saunter on the sunny terrace
So few parks here in Kolkata to walk
Almost not a friend around to embrace
They are silent devoid of any talk

In their body they are walking forward
Do we not always move ahead in time?
Inside the cage in mind they walk backward
Many a wind there in many a chime

Morning grows beautiful in its green glaze
Evening sun with its chin cupped in its hand
The two walkers inside a twilight haze
An old man and a woman in the sand

Light still tickles in the twittering toes
Till our time lasts in our eyes calls the rose
