Silent Pain, Screaming
She sees them walking, holding hands
And yearns for love like that
Where a look or touch meets demands
And there's someone to chat
Her pain is palpable and loud
She wonders if they'll hear
Her lone heart aches and wears a shroud
Her anguish is severe
With twisting agonizing throes
She wears a smile outside
Longing follows where'er she goes
She has so much to hide
Her heart is screaming for love true
A throbbing unspoken
Pining for a partner isn't new
Her being feels broken
Her silent pain is screaming, "When?"
Who can quench that longing?
It'll be satisfied only then
When she's found belonging
