Silent Night Please
Silent Night is the song that hits my heart hard.
I tear up when I hear it,
It brings me back to lacy Sunday school dresses
Green and Red ribbons and bows
Everyone is at church, looking pretty
Or handsome if you are one of the boys
They look silly in their ties, and uncomfortable too
We are a family here
When we sing it, I am pleased because I know the words.
I push the Hymnal away, not needing it.
It brings me back to every Christmas Eve of my youth
Tears come to me as I write of a time
When I had my mommy, daddy, brother and sister
Before the world changed everything.
Silent Night you make me enthusiastically happy!
