Truth is always
an exploration of knowledge
we learn, we grow
without empathy and compassion
it all becomes useless

Now the blind see
the deaf hear
the smell of deceit
touches the innocent heart
the taste, burns all hope

Deception
the death of desire

Powerful. It's amazing how some can't see through the deceit. :(

The truth will set us free or bind us to our faults. Either way, it's a constant reminder of who we are. Great write Arthur.

Arthur, I enjoyed reading this and the way you present the downside after the upside in the first two stanzas. Deception...OMG, the real motives of self-interests are somewhat hidden from us and require a lot of analysis to understand. Real leaders have courage to expose that truth.

The chaos caused by deception is masterfully conveyed by this poem, tinged with melancholy. Well composed, Arthur. :)

Arthur, you have written an excellent poem about the value of honesty, understanding, and kindness in the quest for knowledge. This shows how lying may annihilate these traits and put an end to desire.
