Silent Dawn

As dawn's silence comes to light And birds have yet to burst into song My thoughts take an unchartered flight, Sometimes a poem comes to me in the quiet This brief interlude of solitude, Before the din of the day begins Brings a spiritual peace which is imbued within my soul, and lingers therein Soon, a bird song drifts on the morning light And colors it with melody I pause, and listen with delight And the new day, feels just right - 5-2-18
