This poem explores the emotional tension between silence and understanding the internal struggle of my view of shyness. Hoping to show the readers an irony idea that silence can be heard suggesting that unspoken words often carry more meaning than those spoken aloud.

He stood before her— silent, but not unspoken in his thoughts. Words echoed loud in his mind, if only she could hear them, perhaps she would understand. Understand his faults, the weight of missing words, the drought of silence that left her drowning in doubt. But when silence breaks, clarity cuts deep. His chosen words— not what she longed to hear. He thought his silence was in her best interest, a message left untold. Yet in the end, his silence was all she heard.

My dad used to use silence as a weapon. It could last for days and ultimately, in my case, over thirty years. Nevertheless, silence is better that ill chosen words. Nice write James

Indeed a powerful weapon. Thanks for reading Tom. There are many versions of silent treatment. And your dad's version of silence is too often used that it may cause misread conflict when clarity for the silent is never broken or resolved. Thanks for sharing. Concur silence over ill words.
