I had a hard time dealing with the concept of silence, myself, because so many oppressed people are told to shut up! Good one Milt!

True, Anaya. And, then, whenever they get the courage to speak out, they are often resented for it. If I'm correct, America was built on dissent and speaking out, i.e. The Boston Tea Party!

I repeat, Mr. Parker, "Silence is NOT golden in the face of bigotry or injustice." In those cases, it must speak up loudly and clearly. I agree, there are times, however, when silence is golden, but that wasn't my message here.
