Pa held shotgun to his head

   "Marry her son or you're dead"

      "It wasn't me" the lad pled

         "Yes it was" she said

That's a good one, Bob!! I wonder if there are still "shotgun weddings" today. Hope this one is in the winners' circle. You placed in the history contest because you received high points from both me and James. I'm already getting complaints from people who didn't place, but I think this was the fairest way to do it. wow! Bob H. i like this very much.. now i'm smiling.. glad... my daddy was against my first marriage.. i think he wanted to shot the guy so we would n't wed..lol... to bad he had no shotgun.. kidding.. enjoed your poem.. good luck in the entry... p.d.
