Once, when my heart was young,
There was a stirring in my thoughts,
Whispers and sighs, dreams unsung,
Invaluable lights, falling softly, stirring…
Gentle, like the dew dropping still,
Reassuring my feelings, my faith, my reasons
For believing – yes, eternity would fulfill…
My prayers answered by His awesome grace.
Lasting, silencing the black of night,
Reminding me that hope is always alive,
Moving me to believe in His wonderous light,
Who survives even the doubt that destroys hearts.
Breathing, psalms unlocked by sacred themes,
Songs silent – melodies colored in beautiful,
Soul smiles, joyful and lavish, wonderful extremes,
Erasing the darkness with peace that rests each fear.
Artistic fingers, brought to life by God’s direction,
Bleeding goodwill through the land of shadows,
Promising elation with each heavenly connection,
Twinkling with wonders who abide in each blessing.
Memories, like unopened gifts, present the spirit,
With a sense of what it means to feel so eager…
For the light that pours out its ache, so you hear it,
Beyond the star strewn skies, miracles who abide.
Glowing, soft as the settling sun,
Startling each dawn, each twilight haze,
With inklings of the miracle that God begun…
When He gave us One who shines eternal love!
