bald eagle a shield 
memories omnipresent
greeted by silence
over time the tears might dry
remembered for your valor

My professor at school has had this website up on the board during lectures...eagles are my favorite birds.. Your poem captures the reverence of this bird...I have learned so much from this website tracking their peculiar ways. Pappa eagle dropped a huge rat in the nest to feed the eaglets daily.
