She’s a good girl - a lyrical collaboration with Darren White
She’s a good girl
But she tries too hard
And it just don’t get her anywhere
Living her life in another’s shadow
Wasting her time in the short and narrow
She’s unhappy
And she cries too much
In her heart she’s feeling every pain
Take pity for she won’t be here too long
Everything’s wrong
But can't she see, can't she see
That the one to cure herself is she
She's alone, all alone
And she let's him treat her like she's obsolete
For she feels incomplete
'cause
She’s a sad girl
On this summer night
When the moon ain’t shining anymore
Wanders alone in her desolation
Stares at the sky for some consolation
She is lost now
And she’s gone too far
She can’t see it any other way
Sitting alone as her heart is breaking
Saying goodbye to the steps she’s taking
Come on fly, come on fly
She makes her peace, says the suckers of this world goodbye
Doesn't do small, for she wants it all
Nothing left there for her, sees the world in a blur
She's a soul in transfer,
Oh!
She’s a good girl
And she’s found her way
She don’t need his loving anymore
She can go on with her life now cheerful
Leaving behind all the feelings fearful
She is smiling
And her world is happy
Nothing else now standing in her way
Knowing that soon she will find affection
She can rely on her own direction
She can rely on her own direction
She’s moving on
Darren sent me a verse this morning to see if I wanted to add to it and I told him I had the song “Rich Girl” by Hall and Oates stuck in my head and I couldn’t write to his verse. So he said, then write something based on the melody and let’s work with that. So here it is. Written to the tune of “Rich Girl” by Hall and Oates
