Shell Game

Early morning, Central Park And captured on his phone, My husband saw a turtle, On the pathway, all alone. Its shell had lovely markings But what made the scene unique Was a bunch of sparrows, following And chirping, beak to beak. It seemed the birds were curious About this moving shell, An unfamiliar presence Which just didn’t ring a bell. The turtle crawled, the sparrows chirped, A little morning spark To start another summer day In New York’s Central Park.

A delightful encounter with a turtle and sparrows you have related so well! What a cool park you and your husband are able to enjoy. If you ever visit San Diego, make sure to visit Balboa Park in downtown, created by city planners wishing to emulate the charm of Central Park ~ John

Turtles are clan symbols and so many are now Endangered Species, but how many people gathered there recognised the species? Naught to worry as you enjoyed and shared the treat! Aloha! Rico

Not the shell game I was expecting! Enjoyed :))) I remember coming across a bunch of people gathered around a turtle in the dog park, fretting over the poor thing, trying to call wildlife services. I told them she's hiding in her shell because she's surrounded, she just wants to lay her eggs, she'll be fine if y'all leave her alone lol!
