"Though their heart may break, the deceived often fair better than the deceivers for they can heal stronger and more love aware, whereas deceivers start, and often stay, brokenly unaware."  Poet

She placed her dreams in starshine's bright design
where she believed the galaxy would guard them
from incidents and accidents that might shard them.
She trusted stars to lifelong harmonize love's song.

Wearing confident styles, she traversed fickle miles
before finding a grand love that would surely thrive.

Now, she barely manages life or pajamas without strife.
Gone is her strong and else she wished meant to belong.
Her frantic emotions fast crashed in gray-bashed static
and just her sofa holds her in tear splotchy folds.

Wishing to be free of depressions dark torture spree,
she lives with heart bruises and painful mind debris.
Numbness blurs her pathetic in swirls of decrepit
that pick at her feel-fabric already shredded traumatic.

She cannot define when their end started its doomed sway
but recalls when he left with her 'besty' on a final, total away.

Binocular, as in being intently near, .far sighted, or into the beyond. Depression might manifest a cowardly distance; whereas it should always trigger comforting love and concern. Beautiful, haunting imagery, Cay Cay! I feel overwhelmed! Thank you for sharing this masterpiece ! Keep well, best wishes, Mikki

Hey, darling. If one can't relate to despair and depression, then God must not have loved on them enough. Without such emotions we don't explore who we are and without pain, many would never call HIS name. We cannot spiritually evolve if we are in a perpetual state of peppy happy. MY beliefs, thank you. So glad you came to see me. You are such a sweet one, and, again - that grin (makes me want to hurt someone should they cause you despair despite my beliefs on the topic.) Be blessed ... CayCay

With a title like 'Decrepit Layers of Pathetic,' I was expecting a fair dose of humor... So, I was shocked out of my sneakers when I read this one. Talk about RAW emotions... W-H-O-A

Hey, I was just spending time w/ you on the blog, you're a good one, and, me, I'll say no more because at this point egos are going to clash. Soup probably regrets asking for opinions knowing everyone has one OR Soup pre-planned to ignore them after asking. I would. Nice to meet you and thank you for reading, welcome back any time. Blessings ... CayCay

Betrayal in love is something hard to endure. The former bubbly nature is replaced by frantic emotions of despair and depression and the mind has gone decrepit. A powerful and emotive poem showing the contrast between a time of love and its pathetic betrayal. All the best dear Cay Cay.

Ouch, that one hurts! Being deceived is so hard to take. Your quote is an interesting perspective. A friend of mine once told me that being over trusting is not necessarily a bad thing as I was tell ing him a story, oh, about 6 years ago, and apologizing. Maybe the key word is "over".

I agree, 'overly' trusting is synonymous with 'stupid', I'm sorry but it's my opinion and I'm sticking to it. There's also naive, deliberately ignorant .. I've seen married couples with one being 'blind' trusting while the other is 'grind' lusting (sorry, I spent 4 yrs on a high-rise construction site (site-office) in downtown Dallas.) Thanks for stopping by ... CayCay

Dearest CayCay, This poem is incredibly raw and honest, capturing the pain of heartbreak and betrayal. The imagery is vivid, from "starshine's bright design" to "tear-smeared sheet folds." The contrast between her initial confidence and current struggles is heart-wrenching. Your words convey the complexity of emotions that come with love and loss. Your writing is exquisite! Best, Anne

YES, indeedy, Paula, life will break one's heart many times. I can only hope that for most of the big stuff, it is through breaking me and you, of course - I'd type everybody but that's just not realistic! Poetry hugs ... CayCay
