She Teases Farm Boys

Happy as a lark, they call her Lily
She teases farm boys, acting so silly
  Tells the corniest jokes
The kind told by old folks
Lily's a pretty Hee-Haw Hillbilly

Hello Gershon ... Lily sounds like she's the life of the party at a hoedown - good one Gershon - Lindsay

Heh, heh: She put the 'ho' in hoedown, I guess. Smiles, Gershon

I would more likely say Lily teasesWith her enticing body turning hillbilly boys eyes from turning. Good one Gershon. Blessings my friend

I think you're surely right, Eve: While she thinks the boys are listening to her corny jokes, they're actually focusing on her pretty figure. Hee-haw! Thanks, gw

We got some of those Goodness to earth people in my neck of the woods Gershon. They are good people a little misunderstood but nice...

Now there's the attitude, Tom!... Just never understood why anyone would want to do it in the hay. A poyson could get stuck by a sharp point!! ... Oh, well. It seems they do it anyway! Rompelstiltskin

GW, Hillbilly, it is Lily. Wow, enjoyed it. You must have been tested by one or many in your own days, I guess. Best. Mohan

I love hillbillies! They speak my language. I rarely see hillbilly limericks. Thanks for another great idea!

Buddy Holly was my limerick mentor... lol. Always thought his songs were kind of 'goofing' (as in spoofing) real hillbillies, which he wasn't by then (if he ever was). Thanks, Caren. :) gw

Did you ever watch Hee Haw? (I was just a young'un but I kinda remember it?)

Ha, ha. Hee-haw! That show was on in the late 60's and early 70's. I recall it as a semi put-on/spoof, semi-'serious' look at 'farm-life back then... Actually, it was just a horrible show -- not even close to being in the same league as 'Grand Old Opry (mid - late 50's -- mid 60's, it seems to me.) That was real country!! Thanks, Michelle. :) gw
