She Sits Alone
No man could ever be the one she longed to hold,
her old soul took a toll as her innocence was sold-
Eyes longing to see love full of captivated inspiration,
she was a woman of compassion, such dedication-
She was sincere, complimentary, ravishing and bold.
Her honey eyes thirsted for the lover that she lost,
he passed on in the night and her joy paid the cost-
Long braids covered her nape as she wept from death,
for there was nothing like seeing him take his last breath-
He lay so fragile in the casket, with bold hands crossed.
Now every night she sits alone with nothing else to do,
but think of her sweet husband and all he’d been through-
She knows not of joy or reasons to live in peace,
for her heart is shattered, left but one tiny piece-
Now she prays each night for her dear lover, Andrew.
