Notes About The Poem

She Is Nature

She is Goddess of Day
Her first duty is to Dawn
She paints a pale peach skyway
Spills dew on the waiting lawn

Nature is her - she holds sway
Over each flower, swan and fawn
Her's is the leafy archway
Mountain vistas yet un-drawn

Each Season she will obey
Eagerly waited upon.
Every elaborate bouquet
Our delight to chance there- on

From Summer's shady greenway
To Autumn's fiery walk-on
From Spring's brief flowery entree
To when Winter is long gone

She is Goddess of Day
We’re held forever by her song
Gifts we can never repay
Enraptured we look on

A goddess of the brilliant, subtle, stark and gentle morning, afternoon, and twilight hours. Richly described. A panorama of description and mood. Robert

I have this concept that Nature is female in soft landscapes and the beauty of seasons. Must be the cyclic nature of things. SuZ

Nice to see you GW. I have been revising some poems I had once removed from Soup. A good exercise to get the Muse to awaken. <~> SuZ

Dear SuZ, your enchanting poem is as lyrical as it is beautiful! I just love the word pairings of "pale peach skyway" and "flower, swan and fawn". Exquisite imagery captures the Goddess of Day with grace and grandeur. Warmest wishes, my friend.. ~Susan
