She Dances

She dances she glances Beyond her shoulder She peers Looking back Her beautiful smile She poses in the mirror He weighs his chances Returns her glances Then whiffs Of cheap scent Reveal a fake smile In shattered reflection - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

Whoa!! All is not good in this world of fake and shattered. I enjoyed reading it though. I think that is the way life is sometimes some people are real and kind even if they can't afford fake perfume. Thanks for sharing this one with us. Sara

Congratulations to both Rick and yourself for a piece that had me reflecting on its meaning. Mirrors can distort and help reflect one's thoughts too. Just my take. Cheers - Gary

Take time for circumspection, not meanness nor unwise pickiness. Don’t be caught in the web of her mirror. Catch the cheap scent and fake smile before you are trapped.

Exactly, Victor; if we're not careful, we could easily be taken in by outer appearance. Best regards // paul

Thank you, Jan. What shows up in the mirror is not always what we make it out to be! Rick's simple words are meant for us to think outside the box. Hugs // paul
