Shakespeare

As a mere child of eighteen years,
I married my love Anne.
An older lady,
she was twenty-six years of age.
I love to write,
collaborations~plays~sonnets and of course poems.
As I awake to a new day,
what do I find.
I am in a world I do not know,
everything has changed.
They say I am England's national poet,
how could that be true.
Many new inventions,
oh~my head is spinning.
I learn my pen and ink are out of style,
a thing they call a computer is what writers now use.
I will never learn this computer machine,
I want my pen and ink back.
I want back to my simple life,
oil lamps~pen~ink and paper please.

I bet he would too. Inspiration does not come from sitting at a keyboard, but by engaging in life. Well worded.

This soliloquy of Shakespeare makes us wonder if he has become a misfit in an age of computers and internet. But he has stood the test of time and will live for ever.... So his fear is groundless. Beautiful entry for the contest, Paula

Paula..This is so very cool. Hhakespeare was the best. His sonnets are exceptional, in the annals of poetry. I would like to have that talent and know how to pen in iambic pentameter. Hope I learn this year! It is a must and a goal. Contest wishes.. Love, Panagiota

this is super cool, paula. I was thinking we were meant to write in Shakespeare style or language, so I wish I was clear on that. If this is how to do it, I prefer THIS way and I hope this one is a winner.
