Shadows - Shadows Poetry Contest 6th Place
Shadows, burning bright
Underneath a bursting moon
On an evening full of stars
That hide the pain and all the scars
On yellow wood, they drift away
Like dusts blown afar
Where even wind can't follow
They're like memories of yesterday
So full, but so empty
That forms no part of tomorrow
They're like fleeting wind
That from nowhere they came
And to nowhere they go
They're like stolen glories
That may shine, but not eternal
They may be great, but still mortal
In the darkness, they perish
Like platings of gold on fancy jewel
That do not stand the test of time
For, they were meant to be fleeting
