Constance's Serenity Contest ~ June 12, 2026

Serenity

"Serenity is the tranquil balance 
of heart and mind."    ~ Harold W. Becker

Through a sky glittered with stars we travel
To a rendezvous where our dreams come true
When I am in your arms, fears unravel
Glowing moonlight illuminates my view
Paradise exists and my hope rebounds
As we linger here nestled side by side
Your intimate whispers are revered sounds
My heart delights in love, so long denied
This rare realm of dreams impassions my soul
You rekindle the flames and warm my heart
Our song of serenity makes me whole
Each day I shall yearn for twilight to start
   My world is serene when I'm fast asleep
   In dreams, it's tears of happiness I weep

There came a day when my dreams were fulfilled
A Spring day when my garden flowers bloomed
and long Winter nights that once left me chilled
were replaced by warmth where shadows once loomed
We met by accident, as if by chance
Call it destiny, or label it fate
It was the dawning of love and romance
Better than dreams could ever duplicate
My heart's contentment has now been revealed
I've found tranquility that I can glean
Love's reflection is no longer concealed
With him my life is placidly serene
   In my world, serenity now prevails
   Upon quiet seas my heart gently sails
