September Rain
September Rain
When the cool September rain comes calling round
Laying Autumns coloured leaves upon the ground
Time to wash away the dust of summer days
And walk on through Autumns fine displays
When the cool September rain bursts from the clouds
Bringing colourful wet leaves tumbling around
All the beauty of the Autumn is on show
Nothing can compare to Autumns fiery glow
When the cool September rain comes round again
Bringing wonderful bright colour through the rain
Time to open eyes and look up to the trees
Giving up their summer cloak with every breeze
When the cool September rain falls on my face
I turn up my collar then I hasten my pace
For the summer sun has gone now and its chill
Though the Autumn leaves still fill my heart with thrill
When the cool September rain then leaves the sky
And the fleeting rainbow's glory has gone by
I give thanks for untold beauty all around
As I watch more damp wet leaves come to the ground
When the cool September rain is falling down
And the leaves are fifty burnished shades of brown
There's such dazzling colour flying everywhere
I could stand alone for hours and just stare
When the cool September rain fall comes to pass
Then a cold and lonely winter is forecast
And I pull my brightest memories out again
And once again I feel cool September rain
