September

Listen to poem:
The cold claims the day as the sun respectfully retreats Behind a wall of ominous clouds Walking with heavy restless legs A loneliness sets in I don’t recognize It’s a heaviness falling like a cover Tangible like the oncoming of something Like an echo of a distant muffled cry And everything around seems asleep I hear an endless thundering silence That alarming absence of joy and laughter As if every single soul is in shock On this first day announcing fall. Belated Congrats on scoring a big win with Brian with this one, by the way. I've seen and commented on all your August poems I liked from 2018. Next time I will start with SEptember.

I really like this one because I always start feeling weird around this time of year. I was born in early September, and I think my Celtic horosope is the melancholy willow tree, something like that. So i really identify with this poem, and feeling "heaviness" today. I really have to let things roll off me and stop being so senstive!
