8/17/2023 On this hot, day, I think of our times together. Sweet, yet salty sweat, that rolled onto your lips. Moonlit streets, in Chicago’s lust filled weather Oh, that I might taste them, with my tongue’s tip. Intimacies shared under glistening, leaved trees. This, my love hymn~ may it forever last. Summer moments engraved on Midwest leaves. As powerfully as great crests on the seas.

What a gorgeous quatrain Pangie. Beautifully written - romantic, sensual. ‘This, my love hymn - may it forever last’. Love this line. Thank you for sharing. Xx

Sensuality on display... Any leaves by Gilson Park off of Sheridan Road by the Bahai Temple? (I think I might have left a couple there... Now the cops are all over the place because of drug deals, so no more lover's lane... Pity that). :) gw

Chicago is quite large.I know secret places.LOL. No, was nowhere neat that gorgeous Baha’i Temple. Didn’t even know it was a lover’s lane. Thatcher Woods was a popular place.)) Amongst others!ah, youth! Pangie

This one was not an easy write. Some poems are. I am too humble to call it a work of art, but it was a try at it.thank you. Pangie

This is a great selling point for Chicago. Lust filled weather ticks all the boxes in my book. Great memories, me thinks, and always worthwhile bringing back.

Must admit, when you can pop into the shops for a packet of crisps and come out with a machine gun, I'm not surprised they're killing each other. In Britain, we just stab each other to death.

Hi Paul! It was some smoldering summers years ago.but Chicago has lost its marbles. they have more murders going on there than in Iraq! A sad thought Paul! And each year the death numbers rise Glad I was there, when Moonlit nights were more than mellow. Thank you.

Good evening, Michelle! Remembering those steamy mights , are quite real for me. I practically drool from those thoughts. These days, Chicago is no place to be, if you value your life! In any case, thank you for letting me know which lines were most powerful!! The quatrains were part of a sonnet…not completed….hope to do that one day! With gratitude, Pangie

Wow, this really gets you in that sweet spot. Short but so strongly emotive that it lasts on the conscience after a thorough read.

Dear Friend David! And I do mean, “dear!” ..I have never met you, yet I feel I know you. Your comments are more than thoughtfull..they are meaningful. I was going to make this into a Sonnet. However, it’s too hot these days to concentrate. And my expectations of myself for a sennet are demanding! Those summer nights in the Midwest. “Memorable to the max!” Pangie, with gratitude.
