Selflessness

i was thinking about us I mean the immense amount of people like-minded and very similar desires and then I asked myself if what sets us apart and determines our individual success it's just the strength of our will or the end result is achieved by our level of selflessness

Also, I suspect a good many of our successes are the product of our selfishness, wouldn't you say, too? So often we build on what we take from others.

I think this is frequently true. In a venue such as this one, we feed off of each other, and whether we intend to or not, occasionally we "borrow" another's theme, phrase, or words. I think subconsciously, not deliberate plagiarism.

You're absolutely right. And this happens with our poetry, which feeds and is fed with the poetry of others, which presents us with the following question: are we not all telling the same story, with different eyes and perspectives?
