Selene, the Silvery Moon

Her golden crown shone brightly through dark-quiet. Adorned, in robes of earthen hues and flowing Fiery dragons pulled her silver chariot. Clasping whiteness within her hands, love glowing. Selene kneeled before her father to beg him. Her love’s eternal sleep and youth, her new whim, Nightly, now, she treks the skies for love treasured. Zeus granted her wish, sleep upon her shepherd. © February 28, 2012 Dane Ann Smith-Johnsen Written for Poetry Soup Member Contest: INTO THE MOOD OF IMAGERY Sponsored by: nette onclaud
