Seeking Equality - My Spirit

Lonely days and nights of childhood spent in tears, no comfort wishing for a gentle caress, a peck aching for the tender words weary of the ignorance my heart cries for the child in me Unjust is the love that singles out a child, the rest yearn, birthed by the same as if a duty thats done and then discarded to climb, no support to be lent they wander till the end my heart cries for them where is the glory that the world sings of motherly love and care where is the justice that prevails the right of every child they sing of equality, when at home the child feels unfair oh ruthless world I beseech prithee give a care. © (12 May '15) * Honorable mention in the contestShow me your spirit' by FJ Thomas on 19 May 2015.

I can relate to this so much Nad - my sister has been given everything - house car, private education at college - i have worked for all I have - yet her greed still continues now dad has died - recently i even asked my aunt if I was adopted THAT is the depth of feeling about how differently we have been treated BUT I am the one who is happy in my life! a powerful write:-) Hugs jan xx

Hello Poesy . . . This is a brilliant write!! I think your words and verses ring true especially for many of us who experienced the like perils of growing up as children and the unjust situations that some adults would put many of us in from time to time. And so your poem touched an old childhood nerve in me too. I was fortunate too, on balance, that I had some of the right people at the right times in my life. Excellent Write, and a "7" from me. Read any of my poems too as you wish. Best! Gary

OH Dear....What a write. I know....I only had one child because, to be honest, I didn't want her to ever feel this way. I wanted to give her all my love. I feel for you, sweetie. This is a wonderful write for the contest. It is so worthy and so wonderfully written. Amazing. Hugs

You are kind and you feel for others, Nadiya. Not all are lucky to have loving parents and a lovely childhood. Life can be so cruel; many childhoods are lost to pain and sadness. Luckily some children do find golden souls that take them in their care and give them a loving and happy upbringing. // paul

Thats quite weird... it happens to me at times as well... yeah it is a sad affair, there are many who face such complications, and this affect their life itself... however we might grow, the hurt and darkness of childhood dont seem to outgrow...
