Secrets, One Special One Settled
TANKA SERIES
i spoilt a secret
a birthday surprise for me
my infant daughters
acting suspiciously... why...
when confronted they did tell...
broken hearted... both...
and me... I was in pieces
i failed my daughters
kept secret thirty odd years
not a secret anymore
i reminded them
and of course... they had forgot
still, i shed a tear
explaining... now i have one
a christmas special secret
their eyes bright with smiles
our grandchildren and great too...
daughters eyes sought mine
we hugged and shed many tears
my special secret survived
