Lemon meringue sweet-laughter-light fills shadows cerulean blue. Café de Flore’s summer hot night where dreams tangerine rendezvous. Six strings strumming lavender notes tones, violaceous lilac lace, heartbeats' delicate music floats on fanciful lilts ears embrace. Conversation thrills with saffron..! Hints amorous in coral blushed sheen, lashes flirt, lush flattered chiffon; intentions are aquamarine. French liqueur sipped yellow chartreuse, City of Lights summer hot bliss. So incredibly vivid in imagery + expression. Your phrase "Lemon meringue sweet laughter" is among many word choices that trumpet poetry. A winner in so many ways. Best wishes, Susan as you write with heart + conviction. Sincerely, Brian

Ah, the power of language, a rare power it is, as you evoke Paris without resorting to a single cliche!

My dear friend, cliches are the bane of poetry and I work hard to be creative so as to avoid them at all costs. The power of language takes the willingness to cultivate your linguistic garden and the imagination that blooms. Thank you for spending time with one of my older poems.. one of my favorites too. Your precious comments are wonderful to receive and for that, I thank you, L. J. Warmest wishes.. ~Susan

I love how you described more than just hues with your colors, Susan. Dreams tangerine, tones, violaceous lilac lace, watermelon lust. I can see you were to include ten colors as the contest prompt, but you did so creatively, poetically, and imaginatively! May your conversations always thrill with saffron, and your intentions be aquamarine! It's good to read you again, my dear friend. Trust all is well with you and hope that muse is treating you well. Warmly, John

All is well with me, my muse, well that's another story... lol! I hope all is well with you too, dear poet and friend. Warmest wishes always.. ~Susan

I had to drop by and I lit upon this verse. Now I see dear poet lady, that you have much more on your mind other than trees. We may be at the root of the issue. Seriously Susan, what a delicious bit of sensual color and word play. And you rip it all lose with your final line. Too much fun. So well done. Saving the watermelon for last.

Paul, your beautiful poetic critique of my poem is endearing, lovely and oh so appreciated. Your cherished thoughts on this piece are so heartwarming and I'm smiling in knowing you enjoyed it. I've never been to Paris so I had to imagine the scene but I do know that the Cafe de Flore does exists.. did you go there when you were in Paris? Nicely done, Susan. I find this a very difficult contest to write for, because of the mandated color words. Good luck in the contest.
