Notes About The Poem

If you'd like to see great artwork of sea creatures in sea trash from students go to Trash Art.com or my "Art As Activism I" 6/24   Plastic Whale by Undo, used with prompt as a collage.

We can’t change the world it's true, still we have an unfettered opportunity to express our opinions. One way is this collage —Poet

Sea Trash Begone

Sea trash begone, as youth shall surge
with their passion and devotion
Debris where land and water merge
Sea trash begone!

Breakthrough solutions in motion
ending plastic pollution purge
Serene is a blue-green ocean

Unafraid to swim and submerge
inheritors, high echelon
Fallen baton cease and emerge
Sea trash begone!

Anaya, your poem exposes the world of negative externalities. The cost of dumping pollutants everywhere is not properly reflected in our economic models. This is the biggest lie of them all--even bigger than the 2020 election was stolen, which the media calls "the big lie." I always admire poetry on the subject of pollution and yours is a wonderful reminder of how devastating our behavior is. Smiles!!

I'm hoping the next generations have beautiful clean oceans as scenery Toxins from the Palisades fires have run-off into PCH hoping to visit the beachs this summer! To clean seas!
