You were new and unguarded, Thoughtlessly discarded - You gave yourself for what? Broken and badly shaken, Used once and forsaken, You could only cut. A lifetime later, found, - Your sharp edges were round, Gorgeous as a pearl, A woman so diff'rent than One mistreated by a man - That shattered, sharp-edged girl. It must be a gripping tale. I wish to know each detail - How you became a queen. What happened, I'd like to know, But your beauty does not show Those long years in-between.

This is so poignant, made me tear up for some reason, it is a very thoughtful poem that hits deep, especially felt the lines “ A woman so diff'rent than One mistreated by a man - That shattered, sharp-edged girl. It must be a gripping tale. I wish to know each detail - How you became a queen. ” soul hitting really! Theres so much, to learn and listen to from those that we find shattered, in nature and around too! What a profound write! Soulfully moving! Congratulations on your win:

Thanks, Ink Empress, I think that the best review I've ever had. It's nice to know that something struck a chord. I was thinking of people you sometimes see, and their beauty, but you never know the experiences they had and the hardship they overcame to arrive in that state.
