Sea Glass - nfc

Apothecary bottles smash and scatter Pierce soles of feet, leave limbs in tatters Swept up, put out, find their way to the sea Potent pebbles that could never heal me Colours of jewels yet with traces of poison Lost to time, remembered by no one Finders keepers knowing nothing of harm Can a terrible past still bring modern day calm? Held in the hand like a prized possession Silent and toxic you hear no confession

There's a lot going on in this poem, like the poison stays dormant till unearthed, then all hell breaks loose. The past is there to remind you, never go back.

Lucky for me I always lose sea glass within minutes of finding it :) I love a heart shaped stone though - there's no malice in them. Thanks for your comment, beach combers seem to be flourishing (although maybe they are selling on to a diminishing market haha)

I read this as an accident from glass where the glass ends in the sea, and asks of broken shards have memory. The story fascinates me.

I'm working through my ideas until I feel I land on the one to enter into the contest of the same name. There are lots of intriguing ideas. Thank you for your thoughts x

Dear DD, How many people actually think about taking harmful objects and turning them into things of beauty? I would say that you are the master of that, and I very much enjoyed reading it because it makes you think introspectively. Hidden beauty can harm, and blatantly harmful things have a chance to become something of greater emotional importance. Blessings, My Dear Friend, Daniel
