Schizo

I woke up this morning dazed and confused, I was in a strange room, in a strange bed. There was a woman beside me looking quite bemused, Saying, “Are you getting up you sleepy head?” Two kids walked in that I’ve never seen before, Whining, “Daddy we’re gonna be late!” I swung around the bed planting my feet on the floor; My stability wasn’t really great. I expected them to scream once they saw my face, Thinking that I must have been someone else. They reacted as if I belonged in this place; It actually hurt when I stopped and pinched myself. I didn’t know which way the bathroom was, Or where I would find my clothes; I was surprised to find I was in pajamas, Because I had never worn those. Everyone else acted quite normally, As I walked around in a haze; Trying to figure out who I was supposed to be For a couple of days. Then one morning I woke up in my other bed; In the place that I knew as home. Completely naked, no pajamas instead; Living in an apartment all alone. Now when I go to sleep at nights, I don’t know where I will awake; Living with the schizophrenic fright Of two lives that I cannot shake.
