Scented Memory

It’s early in the evening Smell of Jasmine fills the air The crickets start their singing The sun shows it’s last glare The colored blaze is fading Giving way to lunar flair The stars, for lovers sparkling The breeze, gently blowing hair Deft fingers move, caressing The hand of a lady fair A moment thus inviting The softly whispered prayer Of a love-struck fool, hoping For her life with him to share Her answer quick in coming In the form of smiling stare Lips meet, forever binding The two lovers as one pair This timeless image burning Into hearts unaware So that jasmine scented evenings Will forever bring them there
