Saw the Light

Operation in sight under the knife Friday night Fear is near as I count the hours tiredness strikes This must go ahead or I will surely be dead Operation day has arrived feeling quite surprised Doctor tells me I will be grand as he sends me to dreamland I see a light to my delight and people trying to save me Looking at myself with open chest feeling pain free over me Which way will it be into the light or back to reality Heart beat back no more light feeling blessed what I did see

Great poem for nostalgia, Niall! I had heart surgery many years ago and recall waking up in a fog with all these tubes in me and the first thing I recall thinking is , "I'm Alive!" I'll just be quiet in my fog.

Hmmm I wonder what I would have chosen given the sane circumstances. A very provocative poem.
