Savior
SAVIOR
Who is he who has regard for the weak,
restores the length and breadth of a sick man?
In bleak times, whose mercy does the flesh seek,
when troubled times divert you from canned plan?
Who is one who makes merry, shares your bread,
kisses you on the head then stirs mistrust,
who leans in with lies, your secrets widespread,
a former savior, where friend’s name is cussed?
Who is he who delivers, no delay?
Who is he, worthy of seeking? Rejoice
O my soul, this rainbow is no cliché.
Let us bow down, in communion, one voice.
Who is the foe of ancient times, stirs hate,
takes a handsome friend and throws him off cliff,
has a pearlescent smile and sets the bait,
mocks you, forgets you when body is stiff?
True savior, divine, Bishop of our souls,
in blessed words stir us up, remind us.
Kiss us with lips we can trust, unwind scroll.
Servants of the Lord, pure love makes a fuss.

Blessed is he who has regard for the weak;
the Lord delivers him in times of trouble. (1)
The Lord will sustain him on his sickbed
and restore him from his bed of illness. (3)
Even my close friend, whom I trusted,
he has shared my bread,
has lifted up his heel against me. (9)
