I watch a tree fall, I see it topple downward... "Oh my God," I call. The land is clear cut, the animals cannot hide... protest for their side. Money is their king, gold, silver, and diamond rings... ruthless land strippers. We must save the trees, I beg and plead for help, please!... Together - a breeze. Habitat destruction is causing many animals (as well as plants) to become endangered. I hear them crying for help as I watch the developers strip away the woodlands. Wish we could do more to help them, George. This poem touches my heart deeply. A favorite for me -- wish I'd written it myself. Best wishes in Carol's contest! Love, Carolyn
