Sashaying Gossamer Wings

Bright-coloured butterflies flutter in the morning sky,
Their filmy fragile wings throbbing in dawn's tranquility,
Like little heartbeats dancing in tandem with the tawny sun...
They flit from flower to flower, sipping sweet ambrosia,
Like waltzing wraithlike wisps of aurora's wonderland...
Exquisite winged creatures of delicate beauty,
They frolic freely, sashaying with gossamer gentleness...
Elegantly ornate, they are beautiful to watch,
With the orange orb completing the serene picture...
Such ethereal enchantresses remind us to praise their Creator.

Jo, I love your delightful choice of words that gives your poem a light and airy quality. Your alliteration is top-notch. "Like waltzing wraithlike wisps of aurora's wonderland..." "they frolic freely, sashaying with gossamer gentleness..." And your last line gives credit where credit is due. Nicely done. Congratulations on your win on Mile 23 of my 2022 Poetry Marathon Contest. Keep your running shoes on because Mile 24 has already started.

Dear Jo, your poem is graceful and magical. I adore the alliteration that flits from line to line and the exquisite imagery that captures Nature's "ethereal enchantresses" with poetic flair and finesse. Praiseful, peaceful and beautiful. Congratulations for your excellent win in Mark's contest. Warmest wishes.. ~Susan

this is so pretty, I have to tell you, I believe she put a limit of ten lines. go check and see!!! Wouldn't want this to get left off the list on a technicality.

It's ten lines only, if you're seeing this using a mobile, the longer lines are carried on to the next line.. I guess my presentation doesn't work well on a mobile phone..
