as light
meets night

moon wanes
ink reigns 

dusk bleeds
earth heeds

sizzling 
      fizzling

rose tears
blue spheres

waking
     aching 

sky streams
quartz dreams

fate's thrusts
heart trusts

soul's fire

Wow, beautiful set of footle! "moon wanes ink reigns" Love this most. It is in the early hours of morn when moon wanes, that poetry is born and pen reigns. Missed seeing this as POTD. Belated Congratulations on your well deserved honor. Dear Empress, your ink reigns.

My Dear Empress, "Sapphire" is absolutely soul-touching POTD! I love the minimalist, two-word lines and how your formatting creates such a beautiful visual rhythm. Phrases like "dusk bleeds" and "quartz dreams" pack so much imaginative imagery into just a few syllables. I fell in love with the progression from the fading evening light to the passionate "soul's fire." Evocative, sparkling Faving piece! But what else would one of my favorite poets write? i think there must have been a glitch. I truly remember saying I thought it was the best string of footles in the contest, and I went through all the footles in the contest reading and commenting to them!

Your poetry makes sapphire pulsate vividly and purely. The technical requirements to write a Footle are very challenging. To create meaningful beauty with minimal word options, adhereing to 2 syllables per line that must rhyme...a wonderful crescendo lives within this poem Poetess...J.A.B.
