Imagining a brighter world:
a signature mug
sugar cookies on cute plate
the first sip and crunch
woolen-wet and crumbly ahh
satisfied he unbags their gifts
there’s no plate this stop
exiguous crumbs to sate
a child by the hearth
swaddled in his own bare arms
Santa warms up room
the child awakens
wrapped in a holiday quilt
presents wall to wall
a huge tree stands proud with star
hears reindeer hoofs on roof
stops from here to there
regal Santa’s ho ho cheer
no child left behind
without a joyful reward
and a kiss of chocolate
