Sandia
SANDIA
Sandia …Sandia I love you. Sandia…Sandia your beautiful deep shadows and illuminated peaks stir within me wonder and desire. To be part of your world, your story, your history would be my gift.
Whisper to me …
Sweet watermelon hills. I long to be closer to you, to touch you,
to smell the air on your highest peak,
to lay my tired body in your lush green valleys.
I know you speak to me and whisper in my ears.
I know you call to me and I hear your words…
“Come to me. Let me embrace you. You will become me
and travel through my past, my present and on into my future.
Let me stroke your forehead and gently touch your tired eyelids
closing them so you may rest if even for a few moments.”
“Rest in my hills, in my shelter of smooth warm stones.
Surround yourself. Rest on me. Breathe in my air.
Look upward and gaze upon the lovely pink and gray
clouds that hover around me.
Let me kiss you with my breeze…the call of the air…
and the promise of dreams to come.”
