I would like to see the sun again
So, I can slowly remember when
Your kindness lit up the room
Instead of wet, black trees of gloom
The rain has drenched the forest
Stolen the sunset from the west
Now, it must begin to dry
So, that I can remember why
You sang to me, songs of sunshine
Captivating me, in a rainbows line
Of colors and coins to hold onto
Afghans to keep me warm through
The cold days, like the dark black trees
You were the sunshine to me, my sanctuary
