Ruthless Observation of a Severed Connection
The truth is having its time
As I sit and write the mindless wanderings of a weighted heart
My boy drives
farther
and farther down a highway I will soon know of
Glancing around a haunted apartment
A balcony
Mocking
Two empty chairs
Ghosts facing one another
Sharing a breeze
A kitchen cluttered
Lazy pots resting on lazy pans
The whites of eggs now hard against a dirty counter
The batter of a cake half had falls down like laughter
Into a bed fit for one but perfect for two
A blanket
Stained; with a welcoming passion
A Frisbee that holds a person
Red aluminum towers of cheer hide away daily life
Left in the trash
A pile of dirty memories
Smiles
kept hair full of fingers
A gift given
A stereo full of Gypsy Gods
Mindless of a growing inside
New secrets now kept
