Echoed in the embrace of autumn’s wind, Gentling whispers, sighing Breathing prayers who consume guarded Flames from yesterday’s shadows Considered by the trembling branches, Tugging against the gusts, Laughing into the twisted leaves, dancing Swirling caresses of soft amber, Succulent tangerine and delicious scarlet, Coils of maples, buttery gold Spinning verdures, rich like October’s soul Reflected in the shimmer of stardust, Peppered skies, sprinkled with legends, Beautiful kisses, swiftly Arising from the ebony night, Leaving glistening edges of joy Poured out like rain, splashing the heavens, Assembling the timeless sparkles Together, glowing, flattering Yesterday’s heart with the memories Blazing freely, like oak and birch, Staring through the melancholy temptations, Stirring the curves of a desire so alive It often feels like sunlight’s eager ascension. Signified by the caress of a zephyr brush, Grazing the spirit with quiet healing, Praying for the miracles in rustling boughs, Limbs alive with the enchantment, Torturing eruptions of calm, Drenching the earth with seas of gallantry, Deep, like a tapestry of creativity Rendered magnificent by the talkative trees, Clean, the trace of mystery Listening from loosed bouquet of dry leaves, Suspended in the quiet glow, From a destiny with the past’s designs, Saintly sensations of breathless light Falling softly on the embers of a night While seas show off exquisite surfs, Splattering the beaches With memories undaunted, nostalgic And burning away the silhouettes, Gloomy hues of former times Beginning the equinox, ending Summer’s joy, lingering In the sigh of a serenity, a feeling Daring as rusty prospects From the ridges where squirrels listen For falling acorns and whisper words Aching for the lasting solstice, Sun blessed by a warming adoration, Exhibited by troubling of a grace, Who sees through the dark – into the delicate Polish of autumn’s woodsy warmth Even the hills call out, gasping prayers Resting in the knowing, autumn’s hope That forever, yes, forever There is the second chance, God’s gift To those who simply listen Hear the expression of mercy’s giving To those who just agree To love the way that He has shown Love to be… forever alive, forever free Abundant in the heart who just sees, Just knows the fidelity found in faith!

An outstanding poem full of beautiful imagery. The last stanza in which you compared autumn in all its majesty to the hope we have--the second chance. We, too, toss and tumble so freely with the joy that comes with faith. Just beautiful! Am faving it, enjoy your day, Sara
