Roses Are Red - Collaboration With Ralph Sergi

ROSES ARE RED

The flower’s crimson cerise hue
creates the petal’s grand debut
of love and memories to recall
my florid sanguine gift of all

VIOLETS ARE BLUE

Azalea breath with foxglove tones
embellish with an azure clone
herbaceous with a petal white
where insects set and birds alight

SUGAR IS SWEET

Bright butterflies on zephyr breeze
sip nectar from Sakura trees
I watch them dance from break of dawn
on flowers where their wings adorn

AND SO ARE YOU

You sent me a bouquet of love
drifting down from heaven above
Candy kisses sweet as fructose
on bended knee you now propose

I really enjoyed this work, Jan and Ralph!! :) Jan Allison June 26, 2017 at 6:15 AM I have had the pleasure of writing with two awesome poets Teddy - when you find the right person to write with it can be such fun but if the combination isn't right it can be a painful experience and the poem often doesn't end up getting posted or you aren't happy with the end result - this has happened to me in the past when I first joined soup and also when Darren and I collaborated together and then tried to work with another poet the poems never got to see the light of day:-( hugs Jan xx
