Rosebuds

One rose budding
all silken wrapped
in soft pink
petal feelings
parting emotions

Her heart blushing
red crimson passion
intensity grows
beating love starts
slave of desire

Flying on wings
pollinating
rising tension
excitement landing
on nectar
tasting sweet mead

Desiring royal jelly
queened goddess
beautiful honey
you bloom so sweet
wearing the heart's core
embraced in love

Wonderful glory to the rose and its symbolism, Liam. I too love the rose, and have written many poems in this manner. 'A Winter Rose', is a sonnet I have written that can be found here at poetry soup. Perhaps you might like it. bfn Lainie
