Rose Asks Forgiveness

Pulling energy
  Fervor from Heaven above
    Impaired by her thorns
     Faint memories of her past-
       Forgiveness is all Rose asks.

I think this poem is very lovely. It rates a 7 for me. Best of luck in the contest. Now, regarding your Choka contest, I realize you have cancelled the contest, but, I invite you to read, what was to be my entry, it is called, The Journey To Self And Nature. Constance

Thank you for your kind words on my polar bear poem. I am deeply concerned about this species and saw a couple documentaries that had me in tears. (I've been sleeping with a stuffed polar bear for more than a decade.) Love, Carolyn

I was thinking more along the lines of the thorns about Christ's head- though not from a rose, still thorns all the same. The rose being more symbolic of His people than anything.

Very clever take on the contest, Amy. They have thorns (as we all do from our past mistakes), but forgiveness is what we long to find. Great interpretation and best wishes for success in the contest. Love, Carolyn
