"Romance in the Reflections of the Steely Green-Eyed"
Romance is in the reflections of the steely green-eyed time stolen and framed bars to freedom champagne dreams remain the prisoner’s heart ignominious kept safely in a treasure box poetry lies laconic in the lap kept criminally magnanimous a hand gently caresses a missing mind pulling out unheard singular words famished and ravenous wings flying off the transponding power lines black-feather quilled screaming a life sentence singular words sautéed in three lines missing in milky moonlight softly floats spectral room to room mute engaging the unaware passing through all the eternal years damned alongside all the voiceless hosts tapping fingers like a ghost S.O.S. morse code on windows glassed over lackadaisical and frosted cold on the outside we dance Munch mime trapped in the History of a Wasted Mind solitary and confined 'til death do us part dark and stormy vilified electric veined cold silver heart feigning tame kept on a dangling chain a pendant looping like an aerial display haunting blue sky’s moth-life tiger coiled sabre toothed calculating and refined Romance is held hostage in the reflections of the steely-green eyed (LadyLabyrinth / 2021)

We live and breathe for freedom. Freedom to choose our own paths- our own destinies. After the basics needed to survive, air, food, water - the next thing we must have in life is love. For without it-- all is darkness and misery. Existence centers on love and hope. Hope for a better future with those we love and want to protect. Poetry is about life, love and hope....God bless..

Lindley, I had a very interesting conversation with a comrade out of the Soup this week. They believe Hell is here on Earth and that we only exit the place and reach 'Heaven' / 'Nirvana', when we've learned the lesson/s we have individually been given by some greater power; this may take several lifetimes. Why some people go through Hell worse than others, is dependent on how quickly they learn the lesson/s, to successfully walk over burning coals towards a sense of wholeness in themselves, to reach joy, contentment, emotional stability and 'freedom'.

Love and connection is so very important, but 'Love' and 'connection' must commence within the Self first to open doors to the others of like mind, or at least those who want it and you can share/give to them the keys they may be reaching for. I think it is universally about love and forgiveness, letting go of bitterness and hate in Self to open all paths to a better place where freedom is that constant "Love" we all so badly crave and need to exist spiritually 'whole' in Light - some people may chortle at that as a 'Romantic' notion. We are all connected, this we all mostly forget. 'Self', I Am that I Am, inside. We are all on different roads, but eventually we all meet at the same cross roads, where Love listens and forgives, it doesn't judge, it may redirect to another life until the lesson is learned.

Loss of freedom means loss of connection. Love demands connection. Demands touch. Demands intimacy. Demands freedom to stay, run away or wait for the ever expected hope in the future to harvest what we have sown. Your poetry is rich in color, life, love, beauty, depths that stirs the heart, soul and mind my friend. A definite fav. God bless..

Some lose the true meaning of that, they have to find the music inside themselves again and the keys to those notes can only be touched inside themselves first, before they play for others.

“A Prayer for The Wild at Heart" - "A prayer for the wild at heart Kept in cages I know how you long To run wild and free To feel your blood pumping To hear your heart beating faster

Yet you can’t For you are locked inside a prison One that you will never escape I can hear your howls of pain And your growls of frustration Pacing back and forth Clawing at the bars Tearing at your skin Begging to be set free Your eyes are wild of full hate Your face bears no smile Only a snarl of anger

Blood drips from your hands Blood from the people Who didn’t understand Your fearful whimpers fill the air As you look to the full moon And let out a mournful howl Your voice gets louder As I and the others join in We let our pleads fill the night As we sit in our cold cages Praying someone will hear" Tennessee Williams

"I did a lot of research on what solitary confinement does to you, how you become acclimated to being surrounded by people again after being by yourself for such a long time. It's really a horrific thing. It's definitely worth considering it as torture. We're just not meant to be in solitary confinement." Bill Skarsgard
