River of Me, Ocean of You

River of me Flowing into ocean of you. Carving rock, drifting branch, I come to you a drop at a time. Will I wash away in your vastness? Lose myself in your crumbling waves? Or together, shall we coalesce in aquatic dance Dissolving before becoming one? May our embrace be a whirlpool to the depths. May our passion storm chaos upon the clouds. For you are brick upon Impact, But silk to the touch. Undefinable, Incalculable, You are pure music. Alas, the sun, she calls me, Her heat drawing me skyward. From your arms I must depart, As our love vaporizes into thin air. Static whitewash, curling crest, Your brilliant memory is all that remains. Until we meet again, My dear. Jacob Reinhardt 6/21/2016
